Prior to taking the PowerTeacher training, please complete the pre-test assessment and turn in to Mr. Sharma's box or email Mr. Sharma at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  This pre-test is designed to better assess the effectiveness of the PowerTeacher training.  You may type on the .doc file.Once you have completed the PowerTeacher training, please complete the post-test assessment and a course evaluation.  Likewise, please turn both these forms in to Mr. Sharma.

Instructional Objectives for the PowerTeacher training

The instructional objectives identify what the learner will know at the end of each module and create a structure for instruction and its corresponding assessments. The objectives are all placed under cognitive domain and are in the prescribed format where the blank line represents the listed substance of the objectives: At the end of the lesson, participants will be able to ________ with 100% accuracy.

  1. Module 1 – Logging in and identifying student information
    1. Locate the proper website for PowerTeacher login.
    2. Identify their user name and password (same link as above)
    3. Change password
    4. List student information
  2. Module 2 – Inputting student attendance
    1. Record student attendance
    2. Locate student attendance in other classes
    3. Produce an attendance record for review
  3. Module 3 – Create an assignment on PowerTeacher, copy that assignment to their other classes, and input student scores.
    1. Launch PowerTeacher grade book
    2. Create an assignment
    3. Match grade with student (same as above link)
    4. Record and produce a printout of student grades (same as above link)
  4. Module 4 – Apply the appropriate grade setup between weighted grades and points-based grading.
    1. Categorize assignments into different groups
    2. Assess when to use points-based or weighted grades setup
    3. Produce quarter grade setup that matches the participant’s class syllabus (i.e. weighting grades on tests, classwork, etc. if it is in the syllabus).
  5. Module 5 – Apply comments on report cards and manually override grades. (in progress)
    1. Select one of two methods to view comments form
    2. Compose a comment for a student
    3. Produce a manual override grade with a comment that the grade was manually overwritten
