First day of classes for John F. Kennedy H.S. moved to August 29
The Department of Education announces that the first day of classes for John F. Kennedy High School in their new school will be Monday, August 29.
Student orientation will now take place Thursday, August 25. Teacher orientation will be Friday, August 26.
JFK had been scheduled to start classes with the rest of Guam Department of Education schools August 22.
After touring the new facility with the Chairman of the Guam Education Board earlier today the management team of JFK appealed for the extra week. They determined they needed more time in order to properly move in all equipment and adequately prepare the classrooms.
DOE understands that building contractor International Bridge Corporation expects to acquire occupancy permits for JFK this week.
JFK will use five built-in make-up days from the School Year Calendar to off-set the delay; three in the First Semester and two in the Second Semester.
