Hafa Adai Islanders! Are you a responsible citizen? A technologically literate problem solver? An effective communicator? Would you like a say in this year’s yearbook? Bring your designs to life by joining the Yearbook Club. There will be a meeting this Wednesday, November 21 during lunch in D117. Hope to see you there!

3rdQuarter Sports: Sign-up for Boys’/Girls’ Tennis, Boys’ Basketball, and Girls’ Softball in the Gym during lunch from November 27 – December 6. First official practice begins December 10. The GATE-VPA Theater Arts Program is holding auditions for Disney’s “High School Musical” at the Tiyan Middle School campus on December 17, 18 19 form 6-8p.m. All interested students need to attend one of these auditions. We need singers, dancers, and actors. Techies also need to sign up at this time. For more information, call Ray or Anne at 475-0598 or 789-2125.

It's that time of the year again, where the bells jingle and the carols sing, but this year a mystical event is amidst. Come join W.A.Y. in this year's winter formal "Frost Façade: A Winter Masquerade” on Saturday December 15 at the Somnak Ballroom, Westin Resort from 6PM-11PM. Enjoy a mysterious night full of food, dance, games, and prizes! Tickets are $25. This is a semi-formal event. Hope to see you there in your best outfit with your most mystical mask! SENIORS: Portrait listings are located at the C Building and on the class website jfkhs2013.weebly.com.Directions to the studio are also on the website. Please remember your scheduled date to take your senior portraits. Skipping your scheduled date without contacting the photographer, Mr. Mapote, will result in a $20 fee. For those who plan on rescheduling their senior portraits, there is a possibility that your pictures will not be put into the yearbook. So please be ready for your scheduled date. Thank you!

NHS will be offering tutoring sessions from Monday to Friday, except Wednesdays, during lunch in B210. After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 230pm in B210.

Class of 2K14: You may start to pre-order your class shirts for $12; may be paid to any class officer or advisor. The class of 2K14 is also selling school spirit shirts for $12. Designs will be posted throughout the campus. Order forms are available from any officer or in Room B107 or C201.

College Access Challenge Grant Program: Tutors will be in the Library during lunch weekly on Tues, Wed, and Thurs. This is for CACGP participants and students in need of tutoring services.

GovGuam has announced that the annual Additional Coverage Plan Open Enrollment period for Group Life Insurance Program will start Dec 3 and end on Dec 20 with The Standard Insurance Company. The Teacher Laptops issued through DOE is anticipated to be here for distribution before the Christmas break. In order for teachers to receive a laptop they must complete technology training. Those that have previously taken Gateway to Success at UOG have met the requirement. Those that still needed training are taking PowerSchool Distance Learning training. The Training currently available is online training. It is free and available 24/7 for teachers to take the courses. They are approximately 1 hour in length. Three modules are required. Lady islanders ages 14-17 years old, you are eligible for the Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award (VRA). You must be currently an active volunteer in your community and school. This award is for young ladies actively trying to make our world and community a better place. See Mr. Ballares or your counselor for more info. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2012.

The GCA has four scholarships for Seniors interestedattending the Guam Construction Trades Academy. It is worth $2,500 to the recipients of this scholarship. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Office. See Mr. Ballares or Mrs. Chargualaf.

The Marine Corps is offering an all expense ROTC Scholarship ($ for school, housing and food) for Seniors! Please contact Staff Sgt Leon Guerrero at 472-1775 to set up an appointment for an interview.
