WAVE Club: Register for the Jingle Bell 2K and 5K Run and Walk on Sat, Nov 24, 2012. Showtime is at 5:15 am and go time is at 6:00 am. The Close-Up Student Organization will be having a bottled water drive from November 5-November 19 to assist Kamilian Kiridat, a non-profit group that feeds the homeless daily. Bottled water is to be dropped off in room D203 during lunch time only. Thank you for your support!

SENIORS: Portrait listings are located at the C Building and on the class website jfkhs2013.weebly.com.Directions to the studio are also on the website. Please remember your scheduled date to take your senior portraits. Skipping your scheduled date without contacting the photographer, Mr. Mapote, will result in a $20 fee. For those who plan on rescheduling their senior portraits, there is a possibility that your pictures will not be put into the yearbook. So please be ready for your scheduled date. Thank you!

NHS will be offering tutoring sessions from Monday to Friday, except Wednesdays, during lunch in B210. After school tutoring will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 to 230pm in B210.

The Teacher Laptops issued through DOE is anticipated to be here for distribution before the Christmas break. In order for teachers to receive a laptop they must complete technology training. Those that have previously taken Gateway to Success at UOG have met the requirement. Those that still needed training are taking PowerSchool Distance Learning training. The Training currently available is online training. It is free and available 24/7 for teachers to take the courses. They are approximately 1 hour in length. Three modules are required. Lady islanders ages 14-17 years old, you are eligible for the Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award (VRA). You must be currently an active volunteer in your community and school. This award is for young ladies actively trying to make our world and community a better place. See Mr. Ballares or your counselor for more info. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2012.

College Access Challenge Grant Program (CACGP) participants, please join us on Sat, Nov 17 at the Outrigger Hotel from 9:00am-2:00pm for High School PD Day. Learn about teamwork and leadership skills, career planning, financial aid process and more. This event will include light breakfast, lunch and snacks. The GCA has four scholarships for Seniors interestedattending the Guam Construction Trades Academy. It is worth $2,500 to the recipients of this scholarship. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Office. See Mr. Ballares or Mrs. Chargualaf.
