ATTENTION STUDENTS:
-Reminders-
- Lunch tickets will be sold in front of the gym before school and during the first half of lunch.
- As per Board Policy, all back packs must be made of mesh material or clear plastic.
- Lost and Found items are located in the main office. See any of the clerks for assistance.
- Hats can only be worn during P.E. and JROTC classes. Students wearing hats during instructional time or in the hallways (indoors and outdoors) will have their hats confiscated by school officials.
- Jackets may be worn outside of class only during inclement weather.
- JFKHS is a smoke-free campus. Students caught smoking on-campus, to include smoking in the student parking lot and/or in a personal vehicle in the student parking lot, will be referred for disciplinary action.
- As per Board Policy 406, students are not to use cellular phones during instructional time. If a student violates this policy, the teacher is to confiscate the student’s cellular phone, complete a Discipline Referral form, and submit these items to the main office for action.
- Student vehicles parked on campus without a current student parking decal will be towed at the owner’s expense.
- The Student Store located in J105 &106 is now open for business during lunch. School supplies, jackets, and shirts are being sold.
-New Announcements-
- ESL/LOTE Students: Lunch time tutoring is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays in C105. Bring your material.
- Japanese Culture Club meets every Friday during lunch in L204.
- The Tourism Hospitality Society meets every Friday during lunch in J102.
- Inafa’ Maolek is looking for peer mediators. Interested students please attend the meeting today, Oct. 15th, during lunch in K205. Invite your friends.
- Homecoming this Sat., Oct. 17th at the Ramsey Field – JFK Tumon campus at 3pm. JFK Islanders challenge the GW Geckos. See you there.
- Class of 2012 presents the “Midnight Thrill” Halloween Dance 2009 on Oct. 24th at the Royal Orchid Hotel from 6pm – 10pm. Tickets are being sold for $7, which includes unlimited drinks. Buy your ticket from any Class of 2012 officer or student council member.
- Parent-Teacher Conference is on Thursday, Oct. 29th from 8am – 2pm. There are no classes on this day.
ATTENTION SENIORS:
- Purchase your VIP Card in C102.
- Haunted House meeting today, Oct. 15th, after school in A102. Please support your senior class.
- Purchase your Macy’s “Shop for a cause” discount cards in B202 or from any Senior Class officer.
- The Josten’s representative will be on-campus on Oct. 20th & 21st to take cap & gown orders. See your senior officers for more information.

FROM THE COUNSELORS:
- Guam Community College is hosting the Adult Education Day on Fri., Oct. 16th from 9am – 4pm at the GCC campus multi-purpose room. This is an opportunity for students to learn more about the GED / Adult High School Program.

ATTENTION TEACHERS:
- Expect an attendance roster in your teachers’ boxes listing students who took the PSAT/NMSQT yesterday, Oct. 14th.
- Hooray and congratulations to Mr. Egana, Mrs. Abaday, and Mr. Muna for turning in their ESL Modification folders as of Oct. 14th.
- Parent-Teacher Conference is on Thurs., Oct. 29th, from 8am – 2pm. Break is from 10:30 – 10:45am; lunch is from 1:00 – 2:00pm.
- Please be patient until Power School is online for schedule and roster corrections.
- 1st quarter grades are due Oct. 20th, along with ESL and SPED progress reports.
- ESL reminder: 1st semester modification report is due on Oct. 20th. Forms are available upon request; see request log in J. Tomasiak’s inbox.
- Each Friday at the end of the announcements, the Kennedy Alma Mater will be played. A copy of the words was placed in our teacher’s box last week; please post for students to see.
- Teachers may drop completed IEP written input forms in the CRT box located in the main office.

ATTENTION STUDENTS and TEACHERS:
The University of Guam’s AmeriCorps members are providing tutoring services in the Media Center (2nd floor – I building) for all students needing assistance with English and Math (Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics). Mentoring services are also available for students who need help organizing their schedules and classes, or for students needing help with homework. Schedule is as follows:
Monday: 7:00am – 10:00am
Tuesday: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Wednesday: 7:00am – 9:00am
Thursday: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm / 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Bulletins are posted Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please submit your request no later than 12pm either on Mondays or Wednesdays to Michelle Palacios (main office). Club or Organization announcement requires the advisor’s signature.
